PropelIQ's calculations reflect Australian tax law as at 2026–27, including the current 50% CGT discount and negative gearing rules. Changes to CGT and negative gearing legislated in June 2026 (Treasury Laws Amendment (Tax Reform No. 1) Act 2026), which take effect from 1 July 2027, are not yet modelled. These include replacement of the 50% CGT discount with cost base indexation and a 30% minimum tax, and restrictions on negative gearing for established properties purchased after 12 May 2026. If these changes may affect your situation, confirm with a registered tax agent.
Yes. PropelIQ is currently free to use while we're in early access. You can add multiple properties, track cash flow, and see your tax impact at no cost.
No. PropelIQ provides estimates to help you understand your property portfolio, but it is not a licensed financial, tax or legal advisory service. Always confirm important decisions with a registered tax agent or financial advisor.
We've built PropelIQ to reflect current Australian tax rules as closely as possible, including negative gearing and CGT calculations. However, every individual's tax situation is different, and calculations should be treated as estimates rather than a definitive figure for your tax return.

We're working on features for capital gains tax (CGT) scenario modelling, including primary residence exemptions and sale profit estimates. Sign up to be notified when these features launch.
You can delete your own account at any time from the Account page in the app. This permanently removes your account and all associated data, including your properties, loans, income and expense entries, and any sale scenarios.
